1. SCOPE

This Standard stipulates the terminologies and definitions, requirements and test methods of automobile seats, their anchorages and any head restraints.

This Standard applies to the seats and their anchorages of motor vehicles in Category M1, and Categories N (regardless of whether equipped with head restraint), and the partitioning devices of Category M1 vehicle that used to protect occupants from displaced luggage.

This Standard also applies to the seats of other motor vehicles in Category M2 and M3 that are not specified in GB 13057-2003.

This Standard does not apply to folding seats, lateral facing seats and rear facing seats.
