 1. SCOPE

 This Standard stipulates the measurement procedures and requirements for silencers. This includes the laboratory measurement method and the operational measurement method. 
These are mainly carried out to measure the silencer's insertion loss, but the following may also be measured:
– Noise flow noise power rate;
– Silencer pressure loss and impedance parameters. 
This Standard applies to impedance-based piping silencers.
