 1 SCOPE

 This standard specifies the classification, performance requirements and test methods of the plates and labels used on road vehicles for stating the vehicle information.
This standard applies to various types of plates and labels used on road vehicles for stating vehicle manufacture information, warning information, operating and indicating information.
This standard doesn’t apply to the vehicle identification directly formed by means of punching, etching, casting, spraying or printing on the vehicle or its component body or sewing on component body.
This standard doesn’t apply to the identification, which is removable before the vehicle puts into normal use and which is applied on the vehicle or its component during production, transportation and delivery.
Various types of plates and labels intended for vehicle parts, components and assemblies may use this standard as a reference.
