1 SCOPE 

This Standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods of spray-suppression systems of motor vehicles and their trailers
This Standard applies to:
a) Spray-suppression systems mounted on Category N and O vehicles;
b) Category N and O vehicles fitted with the spray-suppression systems defined in 3.1;
c) In the case of vehicle chassis fitted with cab, the wheels covered by the cab;
d) For vehicles of Category N1, and Category N2 with a maximum design total mass not exceeding 7,500 kg, if fitted with the wheel guards as specified in GB 7063, the requirements of this standard may be considered as satisfactory.
This Standard doesn’t apply to the vehicles of Category G defined in GB/T 15089.
The requirements of this standard relating to spray-suppression devices, as defined in 3.2, are not mandatory for the following vehicles; however, if such devices are fitted to those vehicles, they shall conform to the requirements of this standard.
a) Categories N, O1 and O2 vehicles with a maximum permissible total mass not exceeding 7,500 kg;
b) In the case of vehicle chassis fitted with cab, the wheels not covered by the cab;
c) The chassis without cab;
d) The vehicles on which the spray-suppression devices cannot be mounted in normal service conditions.
