1. SCOPE

This Standard stipulates the test procedures and durability requirements of emission control systems for heavy-duty vehicles.

The Standard applies to the durability tests of emission control systems for the type approval test and production conformity inspection of Category M2, M3, N2 and N3 motor vehicles fitted with exhaust after-treatment devices and at a designated speed of more than 25 km/h, as well as Category M1 motor vehicles with a total mass greater than 3,500 kg.

When the type approval test and the production conformity inspection in accordance with GB 14762-2002, Phase II of GB 17691-2001 and Phase III of GB 17691-2005 are carried out on motor vehicles fitted with exhaust after-treatment devices, they should also meet the durability requirements of emission control systems stipulated in the Standard:
