1 SCOPE

This Standard specifies, with respect to the mopeds, the limits and measurement methods for tailpipe emissions and evaporative emissions, the requirements for crankcase emissions, the durability requirements for pollution control devices and the technical requirements for on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems.
This Standard also specifies, with respect to the mopeds, the requirements for type test and the methods for checking and verifying conformity of production. 
This Standard applies to the two-wheel or three-wheel mopeds, which are equipped with positive ignition engines, and of which the engine capacity is not greater than 50 ml and the maximum design speed is not greater than 50 km/h.
