1. SCOPE
This Standard sets out the terms and definitions, requirements, and test methods for bus seats and their anchorages.
This Standard is applicable to the forward facing seats of Category M2 and Category M3 passenger vehicles. The vehicle should be provided with seat anchorages to install seats of this type or of other types which may be installed on these anchorages.
This Standard does not apply to the seats used in Class A and Class I passenger vehicles of Category M2 and Category M3.
If the manufacturer should require it, the technical requirements and test methods specified in CMVDR 217 for the seats of Category M2 passenger vehicles can also be used.
